Mommy, can we buy a puppy

A cute adorable puppy, in our family life. What could be better, Mom. Come on, pleeeease can we get a puppy. I’ll take care of him. I’ll walk him, I’ll feed him, I’ll take him out. I’ll play with him. I swear. Please, Please, Please, Please.

In case you don’t know this already, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you do. You are going to be the one responsible for the care, feeding, housebreaking and training of your new puppy. Oh yea, and picking up all the poop that comes out of the little guy along with taking him to the groomers and vet’s office. Did I forget anything ? Probably, but that’s not the point here.

You are going to be responsible for, raising that dog. Regardless of what your kids say. You know in your heart, that they will become board with their new toy. And Ladies, your husbands and boyfriends are no better. If they want a puppy, tell them no. They will do the same exact thing as your children. What am I taking about, they are children. Didn’t think I knew that did ya.

You have enough to do every day without the extra burden of raising a puppy. That you didn’t really want in the first place. Sure you love puppies, who doesn’t. There’s plenty of dog lovers out there, that know they just don’t have the time. To tend to a new puppy or dog.

The only time that a new dog really works out in a family, is when you where the one that wanted a dog. So it was easy for you to agree too.

This is a real simple rule.

To use as a guideline, as to whether your family, should get a puppy or not.

If your not the one that really wants a puppy in your home, Don’t get one. Tell them no, and stand your ground. And if you find that you need any support on this issue, I’m only an email away.
